As is usually the case with my creative endeavours I have succeeded in digressing from 'the plan'. One project has a way of inevitably igniting a new idea, which may, or may not, be pursued while previous creative sparks fizzle.
This weeks fizzlers include peg dolls and cloud cushions, although they should be appearing on the blog sometime in the future.
Today was a day for cooking and cleaning in preparation for the big day tomorrow. And because I'm still going on both aforementioned activities here is today's photo. The birthday cake! A friend advised me not to go all out on the novelty cakes for birthday number 1 because your child won't remember and then that cake has been 'taken'. So I jazzed up a flourless chocolate cake with some ganash, colourful choc rocks, TV snacks and ribbon. Appropriately fun and appealing to an adult pallet!
